There are not enough words to describe my grandmother.

She was illustrious, hardworking, and always the joyful host. Grandma was a loyal wife and loving mother and grandmother who doted on her family, never missing an opportunity to proudly brag about the achievements of her children, grandchildren, and the arrival of her first great-grandchild. Grandma loved her family fiercely and poured life lessons, advice, and love into us constantly.

I will never forget Grandma teaching me to make jollof rice, or the early morning phone calls insisting that I come that day to help her organise her ever-growing wardrobes, and she always managed to find my social media accounts no matter how strategically I tried to hide them! Grandma’s voice, energy and abundant character not only lit up the room, but the whole house and environment making everyone around her feel happy and welcome.

She was an amazing woman with tenacity and confidence I will try my hardest to emulate; style and fashion we should all be jealous of, and she lived life on her own terms until the very end.

I cannot help thinking that Grandma is gone too soon but God’s timing is divine, and I have taken comfort in that. Her loving presence stays with us for now and forever.

Grandma, we love you and we miss you. Love Jorden
